Dolau WI – November 2012 Report

The AGM took place in November. Marilyn Thomas from the Powys Radnor Federation WI was welcomed to the meeting.

Heather Lewis was elected as President.    The retiring President Julie Hardwick was thanked for all her dedication and hard work over the past two years.

Following the meeting members enjoyed a ‘Seasonal Food Tasting Evening’ provided by Joanna Griffiths of Deli Tinto Presteigne.  A large selection of savoury foods including cheeses, patès, speciality breads, crisps were set out for members to try alongside cakes, chocolates, teas, all beautifully displayed in hampers.   Jayne Davies gave a vote of thanks to Joanna for an enjoyable presentation.

The competition of an ‘item made out of recycled material’ was won by Heather Lewis.

December looks like a busy month – the next meeting on 5th December will take the form of a Christmas floral workshop.   The Christmas dinner will be held at the Horse and Jockey in Knighton on Friday 7th December and two carol singing evenings on Monday 17th December around Dolau and on Thursday 20th December around Penybont area.
